Student Feedback

Providing students with constructive and timely feedback on their performance is good practice and an important part of the student learning process.

It is good practice to provide feedback to students on their in-course assessments in time to ensure that this feedback could enhance their learning: feedback within two weeks of the submission of an assessment is a good rule-of-thumb.

Feedback on examination performance helps students’ learning and can be provided in a number of ways, including:

• a summary of the main deficiencies or common mistakes of previous cohorts in answering questions related to particular topics (e.g., online through the Learning Management System);
• providing the above feedback on previous examinations to students as part of the course;
• meeting students individually, on request, to review their examination scripts.
