Other Fees & Charges

With effect from the 2025-26 intake cohort, full-time non-local RPG students admitted as self-financed* are required to pay a bench fee. This status is determined upon admission to the University, and will remain unchanged during the entire study period of the research program. 

The bench Fee will be posted together with tuition fee in two equal installments at the beginning of each regular term. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.  For 2025-26 academic year, the fee is $150,000 per annum, and subject to annual review of the University.   Non-payment of bench fee may result in service suspension as stipulated by the Finance Office of the University under the Outstanding Payment Non-compliance Policies.

Non-local students are required to hold a valid student visa/ entry permit or appropriate visa to study in Hong Kong. Current students can apply for their visa/ entry permit through the University, and Academic Registry can act as sponsor for the applications. An application fee of HK$330 is charged by the Academic Registry. (Note: A visa fee will be paid separately to the Immigration Department HKSAR if the visa application is approved.)
