Procedure

Click here to complete Form EX-19 “Application for Grade Review”.

This form is applicable to grade review for final course grades only.

Withdrawal of a submitted application is NOT accepted.

Application Fee

A fee of HK$250 per course is applied. Students will be directed to the payment gateway to settle the fee via credit card upon submitting the application.

Result Notification

Students will be notified the result of grade review via email to their HKUST email account.

If necessary, students may make further appeal to the Dean of School via the same Form EX-19 "Application for Grade Review".  Appeals shall generally be considered only on the basis of procedural irregularity and/or new evidence, accompanied by a justification for the failure to submit this evidence to the Head of department during the initial stage of grade review.

Refund

The fee will be refunded ONLY if the grade review results in a change of grade (both upward and downward adjustments).

Once the relevant grade change is processed, the Academic Registry will notify the Finance Office who will arrange for the refund.

In general, it takes around 8-9 weeks for the refund to be credited to the credit card that you used for settling the fee.
