Project Overview

The Curriculum Management System (CMS) project is a strategic initiative aimed at transforming how academic programs and courses are proposed, reviewed, approved, and maintained. Spearheaded by the Academic Registry (ARO), Fok Ying Tung Graduate School (FYTGS) and Undergraduate Core Education (UCE) team, the CMS will serve as a unified digital platform to streamline curriculum-related workflows, reduce administrative overhead, and improve data integrity across departments.

Project Timeline

1. Discover (June – September 2025)

  • Project kick-off and planning.
  • Core team training and setup of the non-production CMS environment.
  • Initial templates and workflows configured and reviewed.
  • Requirements confirmed through workshops with core team members.
  • Project plan and data migration strategy established.
  • Completion of initial templates and workflows.

2. Define (October 2025 – March 2026)

  • Agreement on CMS templates, workflows, and configuration baseline.
  • User documentation and training materials finalised.
  • Data migration and integration planning.
  • Data load and testing activities.
  • Ongoing stakeholder engagement and feedback sessions.

3. Deploy (March – September 2026)

  • System integration and end-to-end testing (SIT/E2E).
  • User acceptance testing (UAT) and final data migration.
  • Training delivered to end users.
  • Production rollout and go-live (June 2026).
  • Online Curriculum Catalogue (OCC) launches (September 2026).
